I want you…

While enjoying the fried chicken and good company with a good friend at Cardamom Hill, I got a good music recommendation: Erykah Badu’s Worldwide Underground. I forgot about this album, so I went on a listening binge. And I rediscovered my love for this cut, I Want You.

That song inspired the following something I wrote:

I want romance. And pleasure.

I want love. And war. Retreat and surrender. Especially the surrender part. Time and time again

I want longing. I have longing in spades. And reciprocation. If you could  trump me in reciprocation that would be a delight.

I want you. I want you. I want something just outside of my reach. I want the one thing I can’t have. I know better. I could have better. I still want you.

PS: I miss The Chappelle Show.
